King Roti – “Don’t Cry” (Featuring Bishop Brigante)

Canadian, Hip Hop, R&B, Rap

Score: 3.9

The ever shape-shifting King Roti returns, this time in the form of Tupac Shakur (“Can You Get Away”). Unfortunately, he misses the whole point of what could have been an excellent – and important song – for his career, and it only serves to highlight his apparent arrogance/immaturity. On “Don’t Cry” – featuring an excellent guest spot from Bishop Brigante – the two rappers talk to women who have suffered at the hands of their partners, whether psychologically or physically. So far, so noble. However, as the song progresses, it emerges that their sole purpose is to rehabilitate these girls until they themselves can fuck the shit out of them. This is, on all levels, his worst offering by far.
