In a bizarre twist of fate that may well send the earth the wrong way around its axis, “On the Dancefloor” is a very well written song. Throughout. Both The Bilz and Kashif work it remarkably, and the R&B side to it works particularly well. It even has a funky little breakdown that they “don’t normally do” – so why the score? It’s the beat. It sounds so cheap, tinny and unmastered. Something went horribly wrong, which is so strange as usually it’s the other way around. And it’s such a shame, because the penmanship deserves better, so consider this an opportunity lost.
